           Smoke Free Country Campaign                                       

Our country today, health organization facing different personal health issue, and one of those issues is smoking of cigarettes. Cigarettes have much risk in our health and also it affects different agricultural products because of the monopoly of the tobacco company.

Smoking is the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death of many people in the world. It is a prime factor in heart disease, stroke and chronic lung disease, and also it can cause cancer of the lungs. This is not only affecting the active smokers, but also the persons exposed to the passive smoke. Smoking is also a common trigger for asthma exacerbations and can influence asthma development.

In the Philippines, more than half of Filipino households are not smoke-free. Among ASEAN members, the Philippines had the second highest smoking prevalence rate. Every year, there are about 20,000 smoking-related deaths in the country.   Approximately 10 Filipinos die every hour due to tobacco-related diseases.  People do smoke because of different reason maybe it’s because of advertising influences, peer pressure, misconceptions that promote smoking behaviour, or the parental influences.
